Another great show! *UPDATED* Print E-mail
Friday, 16 November 2012

We had some very early Aurora on the evening of Tuesday 13th November. Starting at around 6pm and continuing past midnight we were treated to quite the show, providing that the clouds didn't get in peoples way! Thanks to the following people for sending us images that they managed to capture: Susan Wilde, Peter Light, Collin Orthner, Theresa Tanner, Olivier Du Tré, Zoltan Kenwell, Larry Erlendson, Paul Zizka, Rob Westhouse, Ray Mckenzie, Luciano Fischer, Darcy Conn and Irena Vlach.

We were also sent a link by Noel Keating to a video of Aurora captured over Ireland recently (a long way [magnetically] south to be seeing aurora).

Susan Wilde captured these great images on while out in the cold on Tuesday Nov. 13. You can see more images on her website at:

Susan's website

Peter Light managed to capture this great picture on Tuesday, just before the clouds stopped the show!

Collin Orthner managed to capture these amazing pictures of the aurora over Red Deer County (south east of Red Deer), again beating the cloud cover.

Theresa Tanner managed to capture her very impressive first picture of the Aurora, taken near Alix, Alberta.

Olivier Du Tré was out early on Tuesday Nov. 13 at 18:30 fighting the clouds for hours! His determination paid off as can be seen right and in his gallery here:

Olivier's Gallery.

Zoltan Kenwell was taking wonderful pictures galore, managing to be in the right place at the right time to avoid the clouds! You can see more of his images in:

Zoltan's Gallery.

Larry Erlendson sent us these great photos from Tumbler Ridge, BC in the early hours of Nov. 14.

Paul Zizka was out in the Rockies and captured this spectacular image of the Aurora at Vermilion Lakes on Tuesday Nov. 13.

Rob Westhouse sent us these great images from Booth, SK (L), taken on Nov. 13 23:06 and from Hubbard, SK (R), taken at 00:31 on Nov. 14. You can see more of his images on the following video:

Ray Mckenzie managed to capture a wonderful time-lapse image of the aurora, taken over about an hour 30km east of Saskatoon, SK. You can see his time-lapse here:

Luciano Fischer managed to witness the Northern Lights (and take some great photos) for the first time , before returning to Brazil, on the morning of November 14 in Sutherland Park in Saskatoon, SK. The photos were taken between 01:00 and 02:00.

Darcy Conn captured this spectacular image on November 13, just outside of Regina, SK.

Irena Vlach captured her first photos of the aurora and sent these terrific images. The images were taken near Calahoo, AB, on Nov.13/14.

Noel Keating managed to capture this great movie of the aurora over Donegal, which is quite the challenge at the low latitudes! His video can be seen here:
